UK's BBC may increase alternatives exposure from 8% to 12.5%


The BBC Pension Scheme, which is one of the largest occupation pension schemes in the UK, is considering further hedge fund investments as it looks to long- term growth.

The London-based pension fund, recently in the headlines as a result of its ballooning deficit - from around $701 million in 2008 to roughly $3 billion - is looking to boost its alternatives exposure from a current level of around 8% to a total of 12.5%.
