Newedge appoints independent chair, new CEO

Newedge, the brokerage business co-owned by French banks Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank and Société Générale, has made several new appointments for its board of directors.

Duncan Goldie-Morrison has been named as full-time independent chairman of the board, Jacques Ripoll and Jérôme Grivet have both become vice-chairmen, and Nicolas Breteau has become CEO of Newedge.

Goldie-Morrison has held the chairman role since May 2009, but did so as a representative of Crédit Agricole CIB. He has now resigned from his position as senior advisor to the bank's CEO, Patrick Valroff, and his appointment as an independent chairman for
