Asian hedge funds take cautious approach, medians lag benchmarks in July


Asian hedge fund managers remained cautious in the face of a mild rally in markets in July, resulting in almost all Asian hedge fund medians lagging their respective benchmarks for that month. The AsiaHedge Composite Index was up 1.11% but far below the benchmark MSCI Pacific Free Net, which rose 5.9% in July.

With growing worries over the fragility of the economic recovery in the US and talks of a double dip gaining ground, a large number of hedge fund managers in Asia are understood to be preferring to move into cash and sit on the sidelines until a
