US-based Voras Capital Management, the new $200 million hedge fund set up by former Morgan Stanley co-president Zoe Cruz, has established an office in Hong Kong through a merger with Shelter Cove Capital.
The Hong Kong operation is led by Jialin Liu, who had headed Shelter Cove and was previously Morgan Stanley's former head of fixed income in Asia-Pacific. Shelter Cove had managed about $100 million in multi-strategy assets. Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission records show that Voras last month gained asset management and securities advisory licenses that were previously registered under Shelter Cove.
