Louis Bacon’s Moore Capital Management, the longstanding New York-based industry stalwart with about $15 billion under management, has established operations in Hong Kong, where it recently gained a licence from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
The Hong Kong office is being led by Gaurav Grover, who was a portfolio manager at the $10.5 billion TPG-Axon Capital. He takes on the same title at Moore, where he will focus on pan-Asian long/short equities. Further strategic hires are expected to facilitate Moore’s big drive in the growing Asian market.
Founded by Bacon in 1989, Moore manages a number
