Performance was very inconsistent among global long/short equity funds in August. Many of the better performers were sector specialists.Specialised Metals & Mining completed its first year of trading with an impressive 11.10% return, taking its year-to-date performance to 23.31% and its annualised return to 36.78%.
There were also solid numbers for RAB Global Mining and Resources (3.09%) and BlackRock Natural Resources (1.23%). Meanwhile, gains were made by technology and eco-focused funds including the Santa Ana Fund (6.98%), RAB Innovations (4.36%), and TEIP Environmental Alpha (2.30%). In the TMT sector, Brummer & Partners Manticore made 3.89%.
