Indiana appoints Cooper as chief investment officer for two largest pension funds

David Cooper has been named chief investment officer for Indiana's two largest public pension funds - the $6.5 billion Indiana State Teachers' Retirement Fund and the $14 billion Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund.

In a year that has seen many public pension fund executives changing roles, Cooper is the first CIO to oversee both funds and replaces Indiana Public Employees' CIO Shawn Wischmeier, who left in June to head the North Carolina Retirement Systems, and Indiana Teachers' Tim Walsh, who left in July for the CIO post at New Jersey Division of Investment.
