Moon takes over as CIO of Woori Absolute

Singapore-based Woori Absolute Partners, a subsidiary of South Korea’s Woori Investment & Securities, has named as CIO Edward Moon, who served as the alternative manager’s lead portfolio manager and head of fund of funds.

James Kim, who co-founded Woori Absolute in 2008 with Moon, held the CIO post until his departure from the firm in May, following the closure earlier this year of the Woori Absolute Asia Multi-Strategy Fund. Kim went on to join Seoul-based IBK Securities, where he is leading the firm’s effort to develop an alternatives platform.
