Plan sponsors monitor funding status, Mercer says

Current markets present challenges to trustees, but it seems most are focused on funding issues and ‘de-risking’ of their portfolio, according to a recent survey released by Mercer.

The pace of decision making is looking likely to pick up as a result, with the survey of 124 retirement plans finding that more than half (55%) take one to three months to execute a decision to change asset allocation within their pension portfolio or to make a manager change.
