Oppenheimer marketing veteran joins Phoenix


Stressed bond investor Phoenix Investment Adviser hires Donald Curran to spearhead its institutional marketing effort.

Donald Curran has joined New York hedge fund Phoenix Investment Adviser as a senior vice president responsible for marketing to institutions and pension consultants. He was previously a senior vice president focused on east coast public fund marketing at Oppenheimer Capital, the asset management subsidiary of Allianz Global Investors.

At Phoenix, Curran will be working to raise money from institutions for the flagship JLP Credit Opportunity Fund, which is managed by Jeffrey Peskind, the firm’s chief investment officer. Peskind was previously co-head of global special situations at Bank of America. Phoneix and its flagship launched in 2003.

The fund manages
