Abraaj shareholders launch Menasa Capital as standalone manager


The shareholders in private equity firm Abraaj Capital have formally announced the launch of Menasa Capital Management, an independent asset management firm investing across the Middle East, northern Africa and southern Asia.

Based in Dubai, the new firm has been running a multi-strategy fund since the third quarter of 2009 – which manages $350 million and invests in public equity and fixed income-related instruments.

MCM’s current regional focus includes Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Turkey and the UAE. It will also look at selective opportunities in Algeria, Bahrain, Lebanon, Libya, India, Iraq and Pakistan.
