Lancashire reviews portfolio, considers going direct

by

Lancashire County Pension Fund, based in Preston, Lancashire in the UK, may consider direct hedge fund investing.

Currently in the middle of a review that will lead to a major shake-up in its investment approach, the $4.8 billion plan will appoint a new consultant to advise it on substantial changes in its overall portfolio. This could potentially also see an increase in its total hedge fund allocation.

Currently the pension scheme has a $160 million investment in a fund of funds managed by Gottex. It may also look to implement an investment in GTAA.
