Volatile market conditions last month led to largely flattish Asian hedge fund medians after a promising rebound in September. However, their benchmarks fared little better, reflecting Octobers difficult market conditions.
The AsiaHedge Composite Index was up 1.49%, trailing the MSCI Pacific Free Nets rise of 2.34%. A wider disparity, however, is seen in the year-to-date performance, in which the AsiaHedge Composite Indexs gains of 4.66% lag behind a 7.23% rise in the benchmark.
