Strengthening yen holds back Japanese equities during October


Despite the continuing rally in global markets Japanese equities fell during the month, held back partly by the strengthening yen.

Still, some funds posted decent gains during October. Asuka Japanese equity was up 4.24% to take three-month numbers to 3.34%, while Aristarc Absolute Return posted a 4.04% monthly gain putting three-month figures at 6.62%.

Lindsell Train Japan gained 1.28%, taking three-month figures to 3.22%, and Gartmores AlphaGen Tenro was up 2.37% for October to put three-month numbers at 2.6%.

BDT Japanese Focus Fund was up 3.4% to take three-month figures to 2.14%. The fund saw good gains on the month
