SAM Capital Partners, the London-based manager of the long/short Europe-focused SAM Capital Equity Opportunity Fund, is to launch a UCITS version of the fund.
The onshore offering will replicate the existing hedge fund’s large-cap equity trading strategy and will be launched via SEB Enskilda’s umbrella SICAV platform, SEB Prime Solutions.
SAM’s Cayman fund, managed by founder Dietmar Schmitt, uses a short-term trading strategy across large-cap European equities and equity index futures. The fund made 31% last year but it is down around 1.5% this year to the end of October.
