Illinois Teachers seeks risk management system

The $31 billion Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois is looking for an additional risk management system. The pension fund posted a return of 13.5% for the fiscal year ending 30 June, with hedge funds contributing 11% returns on its $1.23 billion portfolio.

Officials are looking for a more rigid risk management process that will allow staffers to assess the overall strength and weaknesses of future components of the portfolio.
