London’s Haringey mulls alternatives


Haringey Council Pension Fund may look to alternatives in the wake of a wide-ranging investment review, due to be completed by the end of 2010.

It is understood that the review will consider the UK’s fund’s entire investment strategy and the level of risk it can take, with a shift into alternatives, including hedge funds, one of the possible options it may look toward.

The fund, which has assets of $1 billion, fell off sharply during the downturn in global stock markets, with a drop of 21.6% during 2008/09. However during 2009/10 it more than made up for
