BNY Mellon has appointed Thom Fisher as general manager of its Tokyo branch and country executive for Japan as the firm plans to ramp up its workforce in the capital by 30%. He will serve as chief strategist and senior representative for the bank, reporting to Hong Kong-based Christopher Sturdy, chairman in the Asia Pacific.
