Thom Fisher to head BNY Mellon in Tokyo

BNY Mellon has appointed Thom Fisher as general manager of its Tokyo branch and country executive for Japan as the firm plans to ramp up its workforce in the capital by 30%. He will serve as chief strategist and senior representative for the bank, reporting to Hong Kong-based Christopher Sturdy, chairman in the Asia Pacific.

Fisher joins from Blue Sky Strategy, a Middle East-focused hedge fund manager based in the UK, where he served as a consultant. He has more than 35 years of experience in the asset management and securities servicing sector. His long track record in Asia
