Former Maverick Capital partner Lee Hobson, who recently left the $7 billion hedge fund, is getting ready to launch his own shop. Hobson, whose career at Maverick spanned nine years, has moved into the next tower over from his former haunts and is getting ready to debut a long/short equity fund this fall. Officials close to Hobson say the name of the firm will be revealed in the next week, as it still awaiting final approval.
At Maverick, Hobson headed up the consumer products and Latin America groups. The new fund will be similar to Maverick's long/short, multi-sector
