Tiger man off to flyer

The Taurus Fund, the New York-based macro fund, which is the latest addition to the range of hedge funds run by Vega Asset Management, is up 7% in its first four months of trading. The fund, which has assets of about $105 million, is managed out of New York by Bala Kasturi in partnership with Sunjiv Gupta. Kasturi was a risk manager at Tiger for several years in the 1990s, and then had a spell with Deutsche Bank before joining Vega. Unlike other funds in the Vega range, Taurus focuses on equity trades, not fixed income.
