UBS strategy man Landi joins Aquila

Technical-trading expert David Landi recently joined Aquila Capital Management Ltd. as chief operating officer, receiving an equity stake in the firm as part of the deal. Previously, Landi was global head of technical strategy at UBS Warburg. Landi had served out of London, where he also oversaw the proprietary UBS Technical Quantitative Fund, producing returns of 25% in its six months of trading. Landi, who knows Aquila CEO Caspar Marney from their days working at the Swiss Bank Corporation, will also use his technical skills to hone the New York-based hedge fund shop's trading models, methodology and research.
