Fraga targets Latin America


Armino Fraga, a former star trader at Soros Fund Management who went on to serve a four-year term as president of Brazil's central bank, has thrown his hat back into the hedge fund arena. Forty-five-year old Fraga has drawn up plans for a late August launch of a new macro-oriented strategy that is expected to trade everything from stocks and bonds to currencies. It is understood that the fund will try to capitalize on Fraga's intimate knowledge of Brazilian and Latin American markets. Industry watchers suggest that Fraga's resumé has made it much easier for him to attract
