Former Maverick Capital partner Lee Hobson is aiming high with his new hedge fund firm, Highside Capital Management. Hobson has been prepping his new long/short fund for October 1, and is expected to launch with $250 million in assets. He has also selected most of the key members of his team, including former Maverick colleague Alexander Nettune, who focused on the consumer, technology and business sectors.
Others that have joined Hobson include Melissa Flowers Whitney, who was previously with ABN AMRO's prime brokerage investor relations group, and Michael Reese, the former chief financial officer of HBK Investments. Whitney
