PAAMCO backs merger arb fund


PAAMCO is the first investor in a new merger arbitrage fund. In what may be seen as an attempt to get in good with a hedge fund strategy that is on its way back into favor, the Irvine, CA.-based fund of funds, invested $10 million in assets with San Francsico-based Tresckow Capital.

Tresckow Capital only recently opened its doors and is currently managing just over $10 million in assets. The firm was set up by Mike Wenzel and Jonathan Choslovsky, both of whom hailed from New York's Blackfin Capital, a hedge fund firm that was seeded by one private
