Millett quits Kynikos to go solo


Just as Kynikos Associates launched its opportunistic long/short fund in January, a partner with the $2 billion short-sale specialist firm has left to start his own long/short venture.

Doug Millett is aiming to open the doors of Currahee Capital sometime in the third quarter - and will be talking to candidates for his research team as well as the business side of the operation.

Millett started his career on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, but has spent most of his working life picking short sales. He joined Kynikos, the New York firm run by short-selling star Jim Chanos,
