John Lyman, formerly with Caxton Associates, is preparing to open up a global macro fund that he has been trading in a discretionary managed account for the last three years. Squam Capital Partners plans to open the fund, which has generated an average net return in excess of 15%, to outside investors in May.
The fund will employ a global macro strategy. Squam Global Macro Master Fund will invest in major liquid foreign exchange markets, liquid sovereign debt fixed-income markets, commodity markets and major global equity indices. It will target annual returns of 15%-20%.
