Former Goldman equities star hires Morgan Stanley exec

20 April Former Goldman Sachs equity arbitrage chief Eric Mindich has tapped Stu Hendel, co-head of U.S. prime brokerage at Morgan Stanley, to become the chief operating officer of his planned hedge fund operation.

Mindich's selection of one of the top managers within one of the premier prime brokerage groups has further fueled speculation that his fund launch will be the biggest and most sought-after of the year. The global multi-arbitrage vehicle is expected to begin trading in the fall with at least $1 billion of capital - and perhaps much more.
