Yehuda Blinder, a former partner at Dan Gold's recently started multi-strategy fund QVT, is currently setting up a hedge fund firm. Blinder is teaming up with Abby Flamholz, a former managing director at Banc of America Securities. The duo will launch a multi-arbitrage fund sometime in the second quarter. At QVT, Blinder focused primarily on relative value equity trading, as well as some private placements and PIPES. Flamholz previously headed up convertible securities trading at Banc of America Securities. Blinder and Flamholz's new shop will be based in New York.
