Einhorn's $250k "buffett" lunch

Greenlight Capital's David Einhorn and his wife Cheryl recently dropped $250,000 for lunch at a Manhattan eatery with billionaire Warren Buffett. But Einhorn wasn't complaining about the tab - because the lunch was a fundraiser for the San Francisco-based Glide Foundation, which helps community and youth groups.

The hedge fund manager's philanthropic largesse even drew the attention of society pages in New York papers, which noted that the lunching money managers ran into financier and burger magnate Alan Patricof, the controlling shareholder of the Johnny Rockets 1950s-style diner franchise. Patricof later gave the money managers coupons for free burgers
