Marsico's Hillary plans fund launch


Jim Hillary, who recently left mutual fund firm Marsico Capital Management, is planning to set up a hedge fund as part of a new investment management company.

Hillary ran the Marsico Focus fund and the Marsico Growth fund along with the Denver-based firm's founder, Janus alum Tom Marsico, and also managed the Marsico 21st Century MXXIX, a large-growth fund that invested heavily in U.S. stocks.

The Marsico 21st Century fund has produced a three-year return of 3.91%, comparing favorably to both its peers and the S&P 500's return over the same period. Morningstar analysts proclaimed the fund "a solid
