Bear Stearns on Thursday named former New York State Deputy Attorney General Beth Golden its global head of compliance.
In her new post, Golden is expected to wield more extensive influence than her predecessors as the brokerage group is seeking to strengthen the power of her position. She succeeds Ken Cowin, the most recent non-interim head of compliance, who left Bear several months ago to start a private practice.
