Ackermann offers incentives to investors with Monteverdi


Hanspeter Ackermann, a former CIO within Deutsche Bank's private banking business, has quietly opened up his own hedge fund shop. New York-based Monteverdi recently launched its first long/short equity hedge fund on July 1.

The fund, which will employ an event-driven strategy, will invest primarily in European equity. Ackermann and his team are also employing a unique marketing strategy with their start-up. The firm is reportedly offering 1% of the incentive fee to investors for investing $1 million in the fund. Monteverdi plans to give away as much as 15% of its incentive fee.
