Hennessee survey finds growing role for hedge fund consultants


New York hedge fund investment advisory firm Hennessee Group has found that despite the maturation of the hedge fund industry, an increasing share of hedge fund investments are being made through consultants.

In its seventh annual survey of a broad array of hedge fund investors, Hennessee Group said on July 6 that 42% of respondents use a consultant to choose their hedge fund investments. That figure represents a 68% increase in the number of hedge fund investors who said they used consultants in 1999.
