Andor's Benton to refocus on tech; James is leaving

Ending long-running rumors, Andor Capital Management founder Dan Benton has notified investors that he is shutting down all but his technology funds, and that chief investment officer Chris James is leaving to form his own hedge fund operation.

Under the plan outlined by the Stamford, Connecticut firm, Benton will retain all of his tech funds, which contain the bulk of the firm's capital, but have been on a losing streak for more than a year. Andor will liquidate its diversified and healthcare funds at the end of August. James plans to launch his own diversified funds.
