New York-based Capital Z Investments has added another hedge fund to its incubating platform. The firm has backed Cedarview Capital Management, a long/short high yield fund, which launched with $50 million in assets mostly from Capital Z, friends, family and other investors. The fund is managed by Burton Weinstein and Jeff Schachter.
Both Weinstein and Schachter plan to include credit-related investments within their New York-based fund. Cedarview Opportunities Master Fund will also place an emphasis on bank loans as well as a small number of investments in distressed U.S. securities.
