AEP energy trader sets up shop


Lew Williams, former vice president of energy trading at American Electric Power, has started his own firm, Alpha Energy Partners.

The Columbus, Ohio-based shop is planning to launch an energy hedge fund next month that will focus on natural gas trading. The first member of Williams' team is Carey Metz, previously a senior trader at Citadel Investment Group, who will join the firm in November.
