Freidheim shuns new investors for OZ Credit Opportunities fund


In contrast to the recent start-up mantra of high-profile launches beginning opening day with multi-billions in assets, former Och-Ziff securities specialist Steve Freidheim has decided to begin trading his new hedge fund without the help of new investors.

Freidheim, who has been managing the OZ Credit Opportunities Fund, created some waves in the hedge fund pool by departing with all of his employees and reportedly all of the fund's assets.

As Freidheim preps for a November 1 launch, investors interested in the new fund may have to squelch plans to pump money into the firm.
