Mehmet Dalman, the former head of investment banking at Commerzbank, recently left to start his own hedge fund operation. Dalman's departure was the start of what some industry officials expect to be a series of losses as other bankers are likely to join Dalman in his new venture.
The firm also saw the resignation of Omar Bayami, the head of Commerzbank Americas, last week. Bayami's departure was unrelated to Dalman's. Klaus Patig, the firm's acting head of investment banking, is said to be currently talking with fellow colleagues in an effort to stem any additional flow out of the bank.
