Greenwich Roundtable chief backs regulation


The head of the influential non-profit group the Greenwich Roundtable is backing hedge fund regulation. Stephen McMenamin, the group's director, told attendees of the Connecticut state banking department's 16th annual Securities Forum that regulation would be in the interests of the kinds of investors that are part of the roundtable. And his words echoed those written in a letter sent to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last month, urging greater oversight of private fund groups to create a culture of compliance among hedge funds.
