Sununu opposes hedge fund registration


Senator John Sununu, R-N.H. and a member of the Senate's Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs committee, said this week that he opposes the SEC's new rule requiring hedge funds to register as investment advisers.

Speaking at an industry conference, Sununu said requiring hedge fund managers to register will not necessarily protect investors and in fact could encourage hedge funds to move offshore, according to a Dow Jones Newswires report.
