JPMorgan Chase faces SEC probe


JPMorgan is being probed by the Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with its business dealings with Canary Capital Partners, the hedge fund that made headlines last year due to allegedly improper late trading of mutual fund shares.

No charges have been filed by the SEC or other regulators against the investment bank, and JPMorgan has publicly denied any wrongdoing on its part as well as any knowledge of improper actions by Canary Capital or its principals.

Canary has already settled with regulators, but the SEC apparently is continuing to take a closer look at the hedge fund's brokerage
