Galleon Group chief Raj Rajaratnam has set up a relief fund to aid Sri Lankan survivors of the devastation caused by the December quake and ensuing tsunami that struck the region.
Rajaratnam wrote to friends and investors in early January from Sri Lanka, urging them to offer financial support to help the tsunami survivors. An estimated 40,000 Sri Lankans were killed in the tsunami and its aftermath. Basic necessities like drinking water and shelter remained in short supply in early January.
