Bear Stearns' Robik exits to start fund

by

Kevin Robik, a structured product and equity specialist from Bear Stearns, recently departed from the investment bank to start his own hedge fund business.

Robik's yet-to-be-named shop is expected to be based in New York and will focus on long/short equity opportunities, investing in both stocks and equity derivatives. A former managing director at the investment bank, Robik had served at Bear Stearns for 14 years. Industry observers expect that his prominence within the industry should make it easier for Robik to raise outside capital for his new hedge fund venture.
