More hires at Blue Mountain


New York-based Blue Mountain Capital Management recently went on a hiring spree, grabbing senior executives from some of Wall Street's top investment banks.

The $2.5 billion alternative investment shop recently hired Arthur Berd, a former senior vice-president at Lehman, who joins Blue Mountain as a chief quantitative strategist. Also joining this month was Bryce Markus a new portfolio manager who was formerly a Goldman Sachs corporate debt and credit derivatives specialist. The third hire was Jonathan Loflin, a former Goldman Sachs - who along with Scott Smith - recently joined as an associate portfolio manager.
