Hedge Funds Care raises $1.4 million at gala


Hedge Funds Care, an industry charity dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse, raised $1.4 million at its annual New York gala, held at the Marriott Marquis last week.

The event drew 900 attendees from the industry. Louis Ricciardelli, an industry consultant and a former senior adviser to Deutsche Bank's brokerage unit, won the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award for philanthropy. The late Dre Barton, who was a marketing executive and veteran of Citco, was given an Award For Caring, accepted by his wife Sylvia.
