Multi-strat Forest acquires Starr Capital


Eric Starr's Starr Capital has been acquired by Forest Investment Management, the $1.3 billion multi-strategy arbitrage firm based in Connecticut.

Starr sees enormous value in his tie-up with Forest, which will allow him to spend almost all of his time in managing the portfolio rather than building and running a business. He gains the benefits of Forest's existing trading, research and risk management infrastructure, which are costly areas for a start-up to build from scratch.

Starr had been preparing to launch a new long/short Japanese equity fund, which will now launch as the Forest Asia Long/Short Equity Fund on 1
