European utilities group adds U.S. feeder fund

The Ecofin Global Utilities Hedge Fund, the first European-based long/short strategy targeting the global utilities sector, is launching a U.S. LP (Delaware) feeder fund for onshore U.S. investors.

The strategy is run by Bernard Lambilliotte - who set up Ecofin with John Murray back in 1991 as a specialist corporate finance and asset management house in the infrastructure and utilities sectors - and seasoned U.S. utilities hedge fund manager Kurt Holmes.

Launched in October 2004, the firm's first hedge fund strategy has delivered a return of almost 18% since inception - and is estimated to be up by almost 2%
