MKP names new portfolio manager

New York fixed-income specialist MKP Capital Management has hired Credit Suisse First Boston veteran Robert Kepler to help run MKP Opportunity, the firm's global fixed-income arbitrage fund.

MKP expects that its hire of Kepler and others recently will allow it to take in new investments for MKP Opportunity, which has been closed to new investments for six months.

At CSFB, Kepler was a director and head of U.S. technical analysis. He was also previously head of fixed-income technical analysis at Lehman Brothers, and was for several years picked by investors to join Institutional Investor's ranking of top analysts.
