Columbia University recently awarded hedge fund manager and alumnus Mark Kingdon with the John Jay award for distinguished professional achievement. The award, which takes its name from the first U.S. chief justice John Jay, who graduated from the school in 1764, was given to Kingdon at a black-tie dinner that raised cash for college scholarship programs.
