Kingdon honored with John Jay award


Columbia University recently awarded hedge fund manager and alumnus Mark Kingdon with the John Jay award for distinguished professional achievement. The award, which takes its name from the first U.S. chief justice John Jay, who graduated from the school in 1764, was given to Kingdon at a black-tie dinner that raised cash for college scholarship programs.

Kingdon graduated from Columbia in 1971, later going on to start New York-based Kingdon Capital Management in 1983. The hedge fund manager has been very active with his alma mater, serving on the board of trustees for the school. Several years ago, he
