Vulcan makes move into equity


The convergence of private equity firms with the hedge fund world continues to push ahead, with New York-based Vulcan Capital the latest to look at launching a global long/short equity product based on an existing managed account.

Vulcan, with over $1 billion under management, is a long-established private equity firm set up by Kevin Davies and Ford Graham. The plan will be to set up a separate subsidiary, Vulcan Hedge, which will run single-strategy funds.
